NONAMEG® 92 – Vegetable-Based Oleic Acid with over 91% Pure Oleic Acid

NONAMEG® 92 is a vegetable-based oleic acid produced by an enzymatic process at low temperatures. With a content of over 91% monounsaturated oleic acid (C18:1), NONAMEG® 92 offers a well-defined fatty acid composition for numerous industrial applications.

NONAMEG® 92 is a further development of DAKOLUB MB 6098 and NONAMEG® 91. The starting material remains the same, while the manufacturing process has been adapted.

Due to the low-temperature process, energy consumption is very low, resulting in a low CO₂ footprint (PCF).

Due to this fatty acid composition, NONAMEG® 92 shows a low tendency to react with oxygen. This provides high oxidation stability of the product as well as of the corresponding oleates, oleic acid derivatives and formulations made from them.

Vegetable-Based Oleic Acid as a Starting Component for Esters, Oleates and Emulsifiers

The high oleic acid content and the defined fatty acid composition make NONAMEG® 92 an ideal starting component for esters, ester oils and ester-based emulsifiers.

The vegetable-based oleic acid is used to produce corresponding oleates and oleic acid derivatives. Thus, NONAMEG® 92 serves as a starting material for various industrial formulations and applications.

NONAMEG® 92 is also used in metalworking fluids and cooling lubricants as a corrosion protection additive.

Oleic Acid for the Production of Metal Soaps and Metal Oleates

Another area of application for NONAMEG® 92 is the production of metal soaps and metal oleates.

The conversion of oleic acid into corresponding oleates results in various possible applications for these derivatives. The high concentration of oleic acid (C18:1) and the defined composition of NONAMEG® 92 provide good process stability and reproducibility.
